A $15,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man accused of stealing an air conditioner from a business Thursday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Brian Wrinkle, 27, with theft of property.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Sgt. Keith Banks, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said Thursday morning, police were sent to the area of 29th Avenue and Olive Street in reference to the theft of an air conditioning unit.

West said Later in the day, Wrinkle was taken into custody in Sheridan by a Grant County Sheriff’s deputy after police received information on Wrinkle’s location.

He was brought back to Pine Bluff where he was questioned by Banks and admitted taking the air conditioning unit, saying “times were tough and he saw it as an opportunity to make some money.”

Wrinkle said he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court March 21.
