A $10,000 bond was set Friday for a Sherwood man accused of hitting his wife during an alter cation Wednesday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Tyler Tate, 27, with second offense third-degree domestic battery, a felony.

Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed said during a court hearing Friday that Arkansas State Trooper Bob Love was dispatched to a reported rolling domestic disturbance on I-530 at Highway 46.

Reed said Tate had a prior conviction for misdemeanor domestic battery less than five years ago. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled and told to come back to court Jan. 10.
