Pine Bluff District Judge Kim Bridgforth found probable cause to hold a Pine Bluff woman on charges of aggravated assault on a family or household member and terroristic threatening.
According to testimony presented during the hearing, Pine Bluff police responded to a residence on West 37th Avenue on June 20 after receiving a report of an armed disturbance involving family members.
Prosecutors alleged that the incident began after a dispute involving a child at another residence. Authorities said the argument later continued at a West 37th Avenue home, where furniture was allegedly thrown and property was damaged.
According to the affidavit presented in court, the alleged victim told investigators that she was pushed, struck and threatened during the confrontation. Police also reported locating a kitchen knife that investigators said matched the victim’s description of a weapon allegedly used during the incident.
Court records indicate that officers reviewed video evidence and interviewed both the alleged victim and the defendant. During her statement to investigators, the defendant denied threatening the victim with a knife but admitted to throwing items inside the residence during the argument.
Following the hearing, the judge found probable cause to proceed with the case and set bond at $6,000 secured. The court also issued a no-contact order prohibiting communication with the alleged victim.
The defendant was ordered to return to court on July 29.
