$5K bond was set for an Altheimer man being charged with second-degree domestic battery

An Altheimer man was arrested Friday after he allegedly cut a woman during an altercation.

Phillip York, 60, was taken into custody after sheriff’s deputies were sent to 1004 Front Street.

Reading from an affidavit by Sheriff’s Investigator Michael Musgrove, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander explained what deputies found when they arrived.

Alexander the couple’s eight-year-old grandson was also in the residence and he witnessed the fight and saw his grandfather cut his grandmother.

York was also interviewed and Alexander told the court what he said:

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 bond for York after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with second-degree domestic battery. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Feb. 7.
