A $50,000 bond was set Thursday for a Pine Bluff man accused of a weapons violation.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Emmanuel Laster, 19, with criminal use of a prohibited weapon.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit by Detective Kevin Kirk, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said at 3:30 Tuesday afternoon, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle where Laster was a passenger.

Alexander said Laster has no prior convictions or pending charges and he was told to come back to court May 10.
