A $25,000 cash only bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man currently on probation who is accused of pointing a gun at an employee of a dollar store Saturday during an alleged robbery.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Dantirone Mixon, 30, of aggravated robbery, theft of property and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed said police responded to the Family Dollar at 1520 W. 16th Ave., in response to a reported armed disturbance.

Reed said later in the day police found Mixon walking and he asked them for a ride. One of the officers recognized Mixon as the suspect in the robbery and he was taken into custody.

Mixon is currently on probation stemming from prior convictions for aggravated assault, theft by receiving, being a felon in possession of a firearm and burglary and a petition has been filed to revoke that probation. He also has a pending charge of first-degree battery and is out on bond on that allegation.

He said he would hire his own attorney.
