A Pine Bluff man currently on probation was arrested Monday after police found a handgun in the car the man was driving.

Cameron Arnold, 20, was taken into custody by police after they were sent to 32nd Avenue and Willow Street, Senior Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed said during a court hearing Wednesday.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Keith Banks, Reed explained why Arnold was arrested.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 bond for Arnold after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with being a felon in possession of a firearm. He said he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court Dec. 27.
