A Pine Bluff man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly hit a woman in the face, causing severe injuries to her eye.

Kenneth Brown, 42, was taken into custody after police responded to a reported domestic incident on West 35th Avenue.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said police talked to the victim of the incident.

Akel said Brown has a prior conviction for domestic battery and aggravated assault on a family or household member.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $25,000 cash only bond for Brown after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with second-degree domestic battery. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Oct. 5.
