$25,000 bond set for man accused of being involved in a domestic disturbance that caused injury to his 71-year-old mother.

Pine Bluff District Judge Kim Bridgeforth set the bond after finding prosecutors have probable cause to charge John William Staver with Domestic Battery in the second degree and aggravated assault.

Reading a probable cause affidavit by Redfield Detective Terri Patterson, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West explained what led to the arrest of Staver who is not a resident of Arkansas.

West said that Staver does not have prior criminal history in Arkansas, but does have a burglary out of Missouri and two DWIs out of Illinois and Texas.

Staver was ordered not to have contact with the alleged victim and was told to return to court on May 15th. The public defender’s office was appointed to represent him.
