A $20,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff woman accused of hitting the possible father of her children with a vehicle.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Nina Kay Waddell, 43, with first-degree domestic battery and aggravated assault on a family or household member.

Reading from an affidavit by Pine Bluff Police Detective Mike Merritt, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said on Monday, police responded where Waddell was with the possible father of her children.

Alexander told the court that when Waddell was questioned, she denied hitting the man with the vehicle and said he caused the injuries himself.

She was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled and told to come back to court on July 26.
