A Pine Bluff man was arrested Thursday following an investigation into an alleged fight in September that resulted in injuries to another man.

Brendan Coleman, 23, allegedly pulled the victim out of a vehicle following an incident at Sonny’s Bar on Sept. 24 and beat him, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Karres Manning said during a court hearing Friday.

Manning said officers interviewed the victim at Jefferson Regional Hospital and told the court what the victim said.

A witness told police they heard a lot of car doors opening and looked outside where he saw Coleman pull the victim out of a car and beat him. The witness said he told the people who were present he was going to get his gun and they left.

Manning said police also interviewed Coleman.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Coleman after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with second-degree battery. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Nov. 15.
