A Pine Bluff woman was arrested Sunday after she allegedly assaulted another woman inside a convenience store.

Lawanda Rogers, 45, was taken into custody after police were sent to the E-Z Mart on North Walnut Street at 10:20 a.m.

During a court hearing Tuesday, Deputy Prosecutor Jay Gerard said Detective Tamina Smith spoke to the victim and he reported what the victim said.

A witness also told Smith that they saw Rogers hit a small child who was Rogers’ child and Rogers said she was on the drug PCP.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $2,500 bond for Rogers after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with second-degree domestic battery and fourth-degree sexual assault. Rogers said she would hire her own attorney and was told to come back to court on July 16.
