A Pine Bluff woman was arrested Friday after she allegedly pointed a gun at two people during an altercation.

Broneal Smith, 37, told police she did not remember pointing a gun at the alleged victims, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said during a court hearing Monday.

According to a probable cause affidavit from Detective Corey Wilfong, officers were sent to a reported disturbance on East 7th Avenue. When they arrived, a female carrying a gun ran toward the officers and gave it to them.

Carson said on of the victims said two females, including Smith got out of an SUV and Smith pointed a gun at her. She said she knocked the gun out of the hand of Smith, and it fell to the ground where the victim picked it up and carried it to police.

When Smith was interviewed, she said her mother had called her and told her that two women were going to jump on her. She said the gun stayed in her holster during a part of the fight.

A second person who was at the scene said Smith got out of the SUV and pointed it at him and the other victim.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney on Monday set a $10,000 bond for Smith after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Smith with two counts of aggravated assault. The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Smith who was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victims until the case is settled.
