White Hall School District Board talks enrollment increase; appoints new board member

As the third period of the year rolls in for most districts in the Deltaplex, White Hall has been one of the few to show significant improvement in enrollment after the pandemic. During the board’s regular monthly meeting in October, they discussed enrollment during the superintendent’s Gary Williams report.

He stated that in comparison to the years before the pandemic enrollment increased amounting to 3,028. Deltaplex News was present at the meeting and he spoke about this.

During the meeting, the board also approved the facility use policy formula for the fine arts building that is expected to be complete and open to the students on October 21st. The board also considered two contract disclosure forms for B-board members and B-employees.

The financial report was reported as up to date at 4.9 million compared to 4.1 million in the third period of last year.

During the board executive session, they approved moving forward with a vote to appoint a new board member R.D. Johnson. After the session, the board approved the appointment and Deltaplex News Spoke with Johnson about his new position.
