Westmoreland given a $250k cash only bond after allegedly being involved in the shooting four people

A $250,000 cash only bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man accused of being involved in a shooting incident Friday that resulted in four people being shot.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Joseph Westmoreland, 19, with four counts of first-degree battery, two counts of committing a terroristic act and two counts of tampering with evidence.

During the court hearing, Deput Prosecutor Keith Hall said at 6:52 p.m., police responded to the parking lot of Church’s Chicken at 16th Avenue and Cherry Street in response to a report that four people had ben shot while in their cars. Hall said one of the victims was a 77-year-old woman who is in critical condition.

Westmoreland is currently out on bond after being charged with one count of first-degree murder and three counts of first-degree battery that stemming from an incident at Regional Park on May 7. He was ordered to have no contact with the victims and told to come back to court Sept. 15.
