ST. PAUL, Minn. – A duo for the University of Arkansas at Monticello has been named to the 2021 D2CCA NCAA Division II Baseball All-Central Region, the publication announced Wednesday. Shortstop Dylan Borman was named to the All-Central Region First Team while starting pitcher River Hunt earned Second Team recognition.

Borman earned the All-Central Region First Team honor following a strong senior campaign in which he led the Weevils in home runs and slugging percentage. The 6’5″ shortstop also garnered All-Region selection by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association earlier this week.

This season, Borman launched a career-high 16 home runs which led UAM and ranked second in the Great American Conference. He also registered 40 RBI, 38 runs scored and 46 hits while posting a .338 batting average. Following the season, Borman finishes his career as a Weevil second in program history in home runs with 39 and fourth in RBI with 139.

Hunt picked up his All-Central Region Second Team recognition after leading UAM on the mound going 9-0 on the season. The Sherwood, Arkansas native was one of three Weevils to earn First Team All-GAC honors – a list that included Borman.

During his junior campaign, Hunt tied for the conference lead in victories with nine in 12 appearances including 11 starts. He also held opponents to the second-lowest batting average in the league at .201 and posted the third-best ERA at 3.52. Hunt finished the season in the top 10 of the GAC and second on the team with 64 total strikeouts in 61.1 innings pitched.
