Dr. Henry English, Director of the Small Farm Program appeared on Talk Back Live Monday and explained that the program will help farmers and ranchers complete applications for EQUIP and CSP between 10 a.m. and noon at the S.J. Parker 1890 Extension Auditorium at 2300 L.A. “Prexy” Davis Drive.

He explained that ranchers are also eligible to apply.

According to a news release, there are many conservation practices and by selecting different ones in EQUIP, producers can receive additional cash (possibly $30 to $80 per acre) that can be used to help run their programs. In the CSP program, the minimum contract has increased from $1,500 to $4,000 per acre which can make a significant difference for those small farmers with only one or a few acres.
