Early voting is underway in Sheridan to decide which of two candidates will fill an at-large position on the Sheridan School Board.

Incumbent Jeremy Orman is facing Clarissa Wallace, who are both from East End.

Until the 2020 census, all seven members of the Sheridan School Board were elected at large but because the census showed that the minority population of the district exceeded 10 percent, a state law required that the district be divided into five separate zones and the district was allowed to designate the remaining two members to be elected from voters in the entire district.

Those two at-large seats were not on the ballot in November when the other board positions were voted on.

Board elections in odd-numbered years will be held in May and in November for even-numbered years.
