A reported shooting at an apartment complex in Pine Bluff Tuesday resulted in the arrest of two men who allegedly fired shots at a maintenance worker.

Michael Rogers, 42, and Kelly Smith, 40, were taken into custody and according to Deputy Prosecutor Joe West, each have extensive criminal histories.

Reading from an affidavit by Pine Bluff Police Detective Corey Wilfong, West said police were sent to the Regency Arms Apartments at 31st Avenue and Fir Street in response to a reported shooting.

West said Smith fled in a vehicle and video showed he and Rogers both firing handguns at the maintenance manager. He was arrested by an Arkansas State Trooper after a traffic stop.

Rogers has a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm pending and because of that, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $100,000 cash-only bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm from a vehicle and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

A $150,000 secured bond was set for Smith on charges of aggravated assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Rogers and Smith were told to come back to court on June 1.
