By unanimous vote, the Jefferson County Quorum Court has approved funding for the County’s Victims witness and reparatiions program. The funding provides compensation to Victims who have suffered personal injury or death as the result of violent crime.
Jefferson County prosecuting attorney Kyle Hunter is appreciative of the Courts actions.
Hunter says the funding will help some victims become whole again:
The program does not cover property crimes nor pain and suffering. Hunter notes that victims
Must submit n application…but even then a payment or an award is not a guarantee.
