A Springdale man was arrested last week after he was allegedly involved in an armed disturbance at a convenience store.

Darren Brock, 31, was taken into custody after police responded to the disturbance at the Exxon gas station on West 28th Avenue at 6 a.m. on May 24.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Keith Banks, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson explained the allegation against Brock.

Carson said because of his demeanor, Brock was not interviewed and is currently on parole stemming from a conviction in 2019.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for Brock Tuesday after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault and criminal mischief. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled and told to come back to court July 5.

In addition, the parole board has filed a petition to revoke Brock’s parole and he will be held without bond pending a hearing before the board.
