UPDATE 6:45 PM:

Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley has told Deltaplex News that he pronounced the remains deceased at 12:25 p.m.

Kelley tells Deltaplex News that there were no identifying marks on the skeletal remains and no way to determine cause of death. He also said that there is no way to tell if the remains belong to a male or a female.

The remains will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab with hopes that identification and cause of death can be made.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Pine Bluff Police Department is investigating a set of skeletal remains that were located by construction crews at the Admiral Benbow Inn location at 2100 East Harding Wednesday morning.

Crews were working on demolition of the property when the remains were found.

The remains will be sent to the State Crime Lab for identification purposes and to determine cause of death.
