A Sheridan student was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly being found with a gun on the campus of the Alternative School, according to a release from the District.
According to the release a student reported that another student had a gun at the Alternative Learning Academy.
The Sheridan Police Department was immediately notified and responded to conduct an investigation alongside Sheridan School District Administration.
Officers located the gun and immediately took the student that the gun allegedly belong to into custody.
No one on the campus was harmed due to this incident.
The Sheridan School District said that a secure learning environment is the top priority of the district.
”Know that the top priority of the Sheridan School District is to provide a secure environment for learning, and we will continue to do all we can to ensure the safety of our students and staff.”
