By an 11-2 vote the Jefferson County Quorum court approved Bonuses for county employees Wednesday night.   Two members of the county’s legislative body,  Conley Byrd and Danny Holcomb, opposed the idea saying vendors owed by the county should’ve been paid first.

A partial budget was approved so that some of the outstanding bills will be paid, including funds for vendors.  The final measure included some of the language that the holdouts had proposed..which included one additional slot for the Tax Collector’s Office.

Justice Patricia Royal Johnson had this to say after the meeting.
