On Tuesday evening, The Jefferson County Quorum Court Committee of the Whole held one of the shortest meetings ever in the history of the County.   With County Judge Gerald Robinson convening the meeting promptly at 5:30,  several members declined to participate in the process.   Because of their refusal to participate, Justice Danny Holcomb adjourned the meeting because he didn’t have a quorum.  He then reiterated what he has saying all year, the county’s  business needs to be taken care of:

Holcomb is chairman of the Court’s Human Resources panel and he says by holding up the agenda, one of the main casualties is the county’s Road Department.

Justices declining to participate included Carroll, Reginald Johnson and Reginald Adams.

Justice Melanie Johnson-Dumas was absent. The next scheduled meeting is set for next Monday at the County Courthouse.
