Police arrest woman on felony domestic battery allegationMon, December 14, 2020 by Ray KingSHARE NOW HomeCrime BeatPolice arrest woman on felony domestic battery allegationBy Ray KingA Pine Bluff woman who was previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery is facing a felony allegation after she was arrested in the early morning hours Friday following a reported domestic incident at a residence on Oak Ridge.Carol Guess, 52, pleaded no contest to third-degree domestic battery in June 2020. Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said during a court hearing Monday.Police reported that when they arrived at the scene, they found a male who had a small laceration to his nose and a puncture wound to his mid-chest. He told officers he and Guess had gotten into a verbal altercation that turned physical.He said he grabbed her by the hair and pushed he to the floor and she got up, grabbed a knife, and stabbed him. He said he refused medical attention.Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $20,000 bond for Guess after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with second offense third-degree domestic battery. Guess said she would hire her own attorney and was told to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled.
