Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies who responded to a burglar alarm at a house on Champion Ridge Tuesday found a window broken and a woman sitting on the patio smoking a cigarette and drinking wine.

The woman, identified as Dominique Bailey, 38, was asked by Sheriff’s Investigator Terry Wingard why she was at the house and during a court hearing Thursday, Deputy Prosecutor Caleb Conrad read her answer.

The owner of the house told deputies the only thing that appeared to be missing was a bottle of cooking wine and said two alarm panels pulled from the walls and the wires to the alarm siren had been cut.

Bailey was taken to the adult detention center where she waived her right to an attorney and agreed to give a statement. Conrad read that statement.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Bailey after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with residential burglary and criminal mischief. She was ordered to have no contact with the victim and not to go back to the house. She said she did not need an attorney.
