A Pine Bluff man previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery was arrested Tuesday on a similar allegation.

During a court hearing Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said Darquis Fleming was convicted in November 2022 of a misdemeanor offense.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Mike Merritt, Akel said at 9:37 a.m., officers were sent to 1804 W. 30th Ave., in response to a reported domestic disturbance.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Fleming and ordered him to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled. He was told to come back to court Sept. 7.
