As a part of the 65th annual Rural Life Conference at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff next week, the School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences will host a screening of the film “Gaining Ground, the fight for Black Land’ on March 14 at 4:45 p.m. at the S.J. Parker 1890 Extension Complex, S.A. Haney Auditorium at 2300 L.A. “Prexy” Davis Drive.
Appearing on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show Thursday, local farmer P.J. Haney, who appears in the film, talked about it.
Jennifer Lipp, who was filling in for Morning Show host Greg Horne said it was pretty amazing that things were being put in place to insure the future.
Lipp also mentioned that it was important to get the word out.
The public is invited to come and watch the film, which lasts about two hours and admission is free.
