A two-vehicle accident in Hemstead County Wednesday morning resulted in the death of a Nashville man.
According to a preliminary report, Robert Chism, 59, was eastbound ion Highway 278 when the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving crossed the center line and struck the front of a 2008 Ford F150 driven by Jerry Hillery, 70, of Prescott that was westbound.
Hillery was injured and taken to a hospital in Texarkana.
The accident was reported at 8:07 a.m. and the death was the 598th so far this year on the state’s highways.
