A Pine Bluff man was arrested Tuesday following a State Police investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile. Devontae Miller, 22, was taken into custody following the investigation which began July 21 with a call to the State Police Child Abuse hotline.

During a court hearing Wednesday, Deputy Prosecutor Caleb Conrad said the caller reported that the victim at the time was 15.

State Police Special Agent Billy McCradic followed up on the call and Conrad told the court what happened next.

Miller was interviewed on Tuesday and told McCradic that two years ago, he was at his uncle’s apartment with two younger cousins,  including the victim. He said he did not remember asking the victim to have sex with him but did remember pulling down his pants and showing his genitalia. He also admitted giving one of his cousins marijuana but denied giving it to the victim.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Miller after ruling prosecutors have probable cause co charge him with sexual indecency with a child. Miller was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled.
