Trey “BoDirt” Bohannan, a conservative Republican and longtime business owner, has officially announced his candidacy for Arkansas Senate District 10.
Bohannan, founder and owner of Design One Contracting, launched the company 25 years ago as a one-man mowing operation. Over the years, he has grown it into one of eastern Arkansas’ leading excavation and construction firms, offering services in earthwork, industrial erosion control, storm drain installation, and commercial landscaping.
In recognition of his company’s success, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders named Design One as Arkansas Business of the Month in May 2024.
“My business is proof that the American Dream can be achieved through hard work, determination, and sound financial practices,” Bohannan said. “It’s because of this success that I consider myself a conservative Republican.”
Bohannan said he’s entering the race to bring stronger representation to his community, arguing that the district’s current leadership has fallen short.
“I’m tired of the same old politicians getting reelected and doing nothing to help us,” Bohannan said. “I am pro-farmer, pro-life, and pro-Second Amendment, and I will work to support President Trump and protect Arkansas’ conservative values. Arkansans deserve someone who will truly fight for them.”
Outside of his business, Bohannan operates a family farm and, alongside his father, maintains one of the largest antique tractor collections in the region. The pair hosts the annual Bohannan Farms Antique Tractor Show.
