A plan to build low-cost housing in the Rosswood Colony area has residents of that area up in arms.

A Little Rock developer has announced plans to construct 60 low-income apartments and 60 cottages for senior citizens and has received close to $3 million in federal tax credits.

Residents who are members of the Homeowners Association met Sunday where they spoke against the proposal, including Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr., who lives in the area.

Also speaking was Rev. Christopher Mack who said this.

Third-Ward Council member William Fells, who represents the area told those attending that there was not much the city could do to stop the project.

Fells went on to say that there have been suggestions that the developer move the project back to Ohio Street, where it had originally been planned.
