A $5,000 cash only bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff woman with prior felony convictions and pending charges of aggravated assault on a family or household member after she was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart.

Jefferson County District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Tamara Guy, 58, with theft of property.

Reading from an affidavit by Pine Bluff Police Detective Ryan Edwards, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said on Saturday, an off-duty police officer was working at Walmart when he was notified by loss prevention of a suspected theft.

Akel said Guy’s previous theft convictions were in 2016 and 2023 and the pending charge also included being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Guy was told to come back to court Sept. 8.
