Pine Bluff Man Held on Bond After Allegedly Assaulting Two People in Ambulance While Reportedly Intoxicated

A $5,000 secured bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of assaulting two people while intoxicated.

Pine Bluff District Judge Kim Bridgeforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 49-year-old Johnny Reed with two counts of 2nd degree Battery.

Reading from an affidavit by Pine Bluff Police Department Detective Sargeant Jason Boykin, Prosecuting Attorney Shana Alexander said on June 1st, officer Sierra Johnson was dispatched to west 39th Ave. and S. Hazel regarding a disturbance involving a man who was later identified as Reed.

An officer spoke with the first victim who said they were called out to 4100 Middle Warren Rd. in regard to an emergency of a man having a panic attack.

On the way to JRMC, Reed became irate and began attacking Victim 2, to which Victim 1 stopped the ambulance at W. 39th to try to assist Victim 2.

Victim 2 was briefly unconscious after Reed kneed them in the head multiple times.

Other personnel made it to the scene and got Reed under control before transporting him to JRMC.

Reed also has a warrant for detainer with the Arkansas Department of Correction, where he was released under certain conditions.

The court will let The Department of Corrections know of Reed’s violation of the terms of provisions and he will be expected to return.

He was ordered to have no contact with both victims and is scheduled to return to court July 24th.
