A $150,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff woman accused of recanting previous statements she made to police regarding a homicide.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Chassidy Jones, 27, with hindering apprehension.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Shaun Watson, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said the allegation has to do with a homicide that occurred on Sept. 23 where Jones was an eyewitness.

Watson reported that on Oct. 15, he received a text message from Jones recanting her previous statements and denying having any contact with the suspect in the shooting.

West said Jones has no prior convictions but was a material witness in a previous felony case and made multiple attempts to dodge testifying. Circuit Judge Alex Guynn found her guilty of contempt of court in that case.

Jones was told to come back to court Nov. 19.
