A $5,000 cash only bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man currently on probation who was arrested after drugs and a gun were found on his person.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Kedrick Johnson, 43, with possession of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.
Prosecuting Attorney S. Kyle Hunter said Johnson is an habitual offender with more than four prior felony convictions and prosecutors will file a petition to revoke his current probation.
Regarding the new allegations, Hunter said on Friday, Lt. Brett Talley was notified that a person who was reportedly “down” at 22nd Avenue and Hickory had drugs and a firearm in his possession.
That person, later identified as Johnson, reportedly told police he had “crack on him.”
Johnson was told to come back to court Nov. 22.
