A $100,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man currently on parole on drug and weapons charges.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Cameron Bennett, 26, with felony fleeing, felon in possession of a firearm, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, unauthorized use of property to facilitate a crime and possession of a controlled substance.
Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed said on Friday, police were patrolling on Main Street when they saw a Black Chrysler 300 that was northbound that had a defective front passenger side headlight and they attempted a traffic stop.
The vehicle did not stop, turning east on 22nd Avenue then north on State Street.
Reed said the driver, later identified as Bennett refused to stop and ran multiple stop signs while traveling in excess of the speed limit.
Police were able to arrest Bennett and a search of the vehicle resulted in finding suspected marijuana and a clip for the Glock handgun.
Bennett was told to come back to court Feb. 9.
