A $15,000 cash only bond was Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man previously convicted of a felony after a handgun was found in his possession.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Malcolm Jones, 36, with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The arrest was based on an affidavit by Southeast Arkansas Police Chief Richard Wegner that was presented in court by Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin.

Wegner reported that on Tuesday, Wegner responded to a residence near SEARK in response to a reported trespassing incident.

Jones was told to come back to court Oct. 8.
