A $25,000 secured bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man accused of acting erratically and threatening his family.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 46-year-old John Smith with Terroristic Threatening and Criminal Attempted Arson.
Reading from an affidavit, Prosecuting Attorney S Kyle Hunter said on June 4th, an officer responded to a disturbance 1225 S Larch St. in response to a disturbance.
Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the victim, smith’s mother, who states Smith, who also lives there, smashed doorways with a hammer, and later poured gasoline around the property and threatened to set the house on fire with the family still inside.
She got the behavior on video, and the officer reviewed the footage.
Smith was then detained.
Smith was ordered to have no contact with the victim and is scheduled to return to court.
