A $50,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man currently on parole on drug related allegations.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Cornelius Westmoreland, 52, with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver, tampering with evidence and distribution near certain facilities.
Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said Westmoreland was arrested after police vice and narcotics officers served a drug related search warrant at a house on the west side of the city.
Spradlin said a person who was in the house told police they had seen Westmoreland enter and exit a bedroom where the largest amount of suspected cocaine was found. The house was also located near a church on Hepburn Street.
Westmoreland was told to come back to court July 18.
