Pine Bluff Man Faces Charges After Stolen Car and Firearm Found in Possession

A $15,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man previously convicted of a felony who was found with a gun in his pocket and was driving a car that the owner had reported stolen.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jason Waker, 47, with theft by receiving and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

On Nov. 19, the owner of a 2016 Nissan contacted police to report they had allowed Walker to borrow their vehicle.

A deputy prosecutor told the court Walker refused to return the vehicle.

Walker is listed as an habitual offender and was told to come back to court Jan. 12.
