A $50,000 cash only bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of stalking a former teacher and her daughter.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Matthew Adair, 38, with stalking.

Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said on Aug. 26, Sheriff’s Investigator Kristen Pennington talked to the victim who reported receiving multiple Facebook messages from Adair, who she said was a former student of hers about 20 years ago. She said she had received 32 messages.

Investigators also talked to the daughter, identified only as K.T. who said she knew who Adair was and had received messages from him but didn’t respond to the messages.

Spradlin said Adair has a previous conviction for stalking, for or more prior felony convictions and is also on a suspended imposition of sentence in another case.

Adair was ordered to have no contact with the victims and told to come back to court Oct. 1.
