A $10,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man who allegedly hit his pregnant girlfriend with a broomstick during an altercation.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Antonio Nelson, 27, with second-degree domestic battery.
Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin told the court that when Nelson picked up the broom stick, he hit Tianna Taylor, 28, in the face, causing a laceration.
Spradlin said Nelson has no prior felony charges or convictions. He was ordered to have no contact with Taylor until the case is settled.
Taylor was also arrested and charged with second-degree domestic battery, but she was released pending further investigation.
Nelson was told to come back to court Aug. 18.
