The State Insurance Department recently fined two pharmacy benefit managers a significant amount of money after accusing them of underpaying pharmacies less than the cost of the medications they ordered.
Lelan Stice, the owner of Doctor’s Orders Pharmacies was a recent guest on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show and explained exactly what Pharmacy Benefit Managers are and what they do.
He went on to say that the companies steer patients from doctors offices because they own the insurance companies and it (prescriptions) goes through a portal
