Multiple Agencies Work Together to Capture Stuttgart Murder Suspect Near Pine Bluff

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — The Pine Bluff Police Department, along with several other law enforcement agencies, recently assisted in apprehending a Stuttgart murder suspect at the request of the Stuttgart Police Department.

Lemontae Thompson was taken into custody on Nov. 7 just outside of Pine Bluff city limits. He was wanted in connection with the Nov. 2 homicide of teenager Treveon Jones in Stuttgart’s JB Bryant Park.

Joining the SPD and PBPD in helping to locate and apprehend Thompson were: Arkansas State Police, Arkansas County Sheriff’s Office, Tri-County Task Force, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Game and Fish and the US Marshals Service.

“Your efforts and partnership play a vital role in keeping Stuttgart safe,” the SPD stated in a Facebook news release. “We continue to keep Mr. Jones’ family in our thoughts and prayers as they continue to find strength and comfort working through this time of loss and healing.”

PBPD Public Relations Specialist John Worthen echoed the SPD’s sentiments, saying, “The PBPD wishes to express our condolences to Jones’ family. We are glad we could be of service in helping our partner agencies bring this suspect into custody.”
