LAKE VILLAGE, Ark. — A Lake Village woman has been arrested in connection with an investigation into the alleged theft of more than $215,000 from two organizations, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division arrested 57-year-old Debra Chandler on Tuesday, June 23, on two felony counts of theft of property.
According to investigators, the case began in December 2025 after Tenth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Frank Spain requested the Arkansas State Police conduct an investigation. Authorities said Chandler owns Village Bookkeeping in Lake Village and also provided bookkeeping services for the Chicot Junction Water System.
State police allege the investigation determined that approximately $215,821 was taken from the two entities.
Chandler was taken into custody, booked on the theft charges and later released after posting a $50,000 bond.
The Arkansas State Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
