Jefferson County Judge’s Office wants to remind everyone that due to the extreme heat and dry weather several counties have been placed in a burn ban. While Jefferson County is not currently in a burn ban they would like everyone to be mindful of these extreme conditions.
Local officials are urging residents to follow the restrictions, citing dry conditions and an increased risk of wildfires. Putdoor burning, including brush piles, debris, and other open flames need to be closely monitored until conditions improve.
