During a court hearing Wednesday, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin explained the allegations.

Spradlin said Jimmie Walters has no prior felony convictions and pending charges and asked that he be released pending further investigation. Leonard has a prior felony conviction for robbery in 1994.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 bond for Leonard Walters after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault on a family or household member, felon in possession of a firearm and theft by receiving.

The brothers were ordered to have no contact with each other and told to come back to court Oct. 22.
