Jacksonville Man Held on $100K Bond for Drug and Weapons Charges

A $100,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Jacksonville man on drug and weapons charges.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Devion Bass, 21, with being a felon in possession of a firearm, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reading from an affidavit from Arkansas State Trooper Terrell Pratt, Deput Prosecutor Shana Alexander said on Tuesday at about 1:08 p.m., Trooper Pratt was working on I-530 when he saw a maroon Toyota traveling 82 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour and conducted a traffic stop.

Alexander said Bass is currently on probation in Pulaski County on two sexual assault allegations and has charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance and is on bond on those charges.

He was told to come back to court March 2.
